The Town of Greene is centrally located in
Androscoggin County bordering Lewiston, Turner, Leeds, Wales & Sabattus.
Incorporated on June 18, 1788 from Lewiston Plantation. With its 36 square
miles, we are a caring community with many things to offer. Population is 4350 (according to the 2010
U.S. census) and growing strong. U.S. Route 202 runs through the center of Town.
Greene has 61 miles of quality roads and is located only 6 miles from the Maine
Turnpike (Interstate 95) and has 6 miles of Railroad Service from the Guilford
Railroad.

MSAD#52 Budget Book - The validation vote held May 8th was defeated 172-yes 182-no. The School Board will now have to go back to see where cuts can be made and bring it back to the voters.
Several volunteer positions are needed. Show your community pride and volunteer on a committee.
Available volunteer positions are 5 Appeals Board members, 4 Conservation Commission, 6 Economic & Community Development, 1 Planning Board, 2 Solid Waste, Cable TV committee and Greene Village Celebration. Contact the Town Office for more information.

The Friends and Trustees of the Library would like to thank "Books-A-Million" at the Auburn Mall and the many people who donated children's books for the Julia Adams Morse Library by holding a book donation drive in December. We are very grateful to all who participated.
